The S&P 500 continues to struggle with a 0.4% decline, as the inability to hold onto an
early gain has reined in risk sentiment.

The mega-caps are exerting key pressure.
Apple (AAPL 155.05, -3.46, -2.2%), Tesla (TSLA 800.47, -37.83, -4.5%),
and Meta Platforms (FB 188.59, -6.67, -3.4%) are down between 2-5%,
even as long-term interest rates edge lower.

The 10-yr yield is down three basis points to 1.98%.

The under performance of the mega-caps suggests that investors
are less interested in seeking shelter in equities and are more
interested in preserving assets in cash and bonds.

The defensive-oriented sectors are also trading lower, except for health care (+0.1%).
