>>> I think we should pull out of NATO <<

I don’t think anyone can explain what NATO is really all about. Read opinions that it is the main tool for globalization - to make the world into ONE. The reality is that it’s probably, first and foremost, a government program - of many governments, but mostly ours - whose main goal is to… merely exist. They want the money to keep coming in, their colonels to keep getting promoted to generals… nice bases, nice careers. It’s very expensive - read somewhere that they’re going through a $1 trillion a year. But I’m not sure.

After the demise of the USSR the Brzezinski philosophy came in very handy - namely, to keep pressuring Russia until we make sure they’ll never come back (which was inherently somewhat stupid, since they inherited nukes from the Soviets). The NATO main unstated purpose became to pressure Russians - for which purpose, they had to be rejected as potential friends and treated as potential enemies.

So, they incorporated every Eastern European country except for Ukraine and Georgia. Over these last 2, NATO is getting a pushback - and this one, over Ukraine, is extremely serious.
