If you are planning on holding for the long term, then CPQ is probably a better long term play than SUNW. SUNW has a lot of soul searching to do over the next few years. With MERCED about to hit we are seeing HP, CPQ, IBM, DELL, and even IBM moving toward a unified platform. SAP, SAS and others that sell enterprise based solutions that can run companies speak more and more about moving all their software to NT based platforms. NSCP and even ORACLE have hit rocky times. Apple is just kind of drifting. In short, SUN has no troops to rally.
