SDRAM is intended to be an interim solution (1998 and co-exisiting with RDRAM a few years beyond) and this vision was very clear from the very start.

For the long term, RDRAM is the solution.

I really don't understand the current fuss.....as if something new had happened.

PS: Needless to say there will be barrier in transitioning into Rambus based architecture,as in the case of all enabling technologies, but SDRAM has its limitations--very clearly defined limitations as detailed in my old posts (several hundreds back).
