Re: Old Folk Portfolio ... Add On Buys

When the market is in a correction like we've seen the over the past couple of weeks, I like to add small purchases that make sizable drawdowns given in any one day. Since I don't know where a bottom will be established, or how long it'll take, I do want to be sure to take advantage of lower prices as they present better valuations and higher yields. I may not catch the bottom but I will average down into it. By investing small I'm not risking too much money in the event prices continue to fall.

I look for companies that drop in price by 4% or more on the day. With the market correcting, other companies are entering discount to fair value territory and I am adding to those positions as well.

Since the market is still in correction mode, I am keeping these add on additions in the $400 - $1,000 price range.

These are today's add on buys:

ABT - 18 shares
TGT - 4
GD - 22
AQN - 332
BEP - 49
SJM - 8
APD - 5
MS - 12
NKE - 9
MSFT - 4
MA - 3
AMAT - 8
ANTM - 3
DHI - 13
TJX - 17

If the market continues to correct, I will continue to add small sized positions and average down into the market low. Meanwhile, yields are rising and the income amounts should benefit from that.
