Well...now let me see... I would guess that this is maybe...no definitely the third time you have asked this question and received at least 400 responses to it. So isn't it possible you can answer this question better than me?<g>

I would not buy a new computer right now b/c the current Pentium II will not run nearly as well as the new system with the 100MHZ bus speed. So I would wait for that. Now although it will be available this summer, if you are cost conscious you may want to wait until Jan 99 when the prices are more attractive...otherwise get it when you are ready.

Dell, CPQ, GTW and MUEI will have it quickly and running stable the earliest as well as maybe a few others. Also MUEI is designing their own chipset for the PII.

If your current system is not fast enough. Do the following:

1) Run with 64mb of MEM - $60
2)Change your processor to 200MHZ classic if your cpu allows- $125
3)If you can't do 2, at least overclock your cpu to 166. $0
4)Invest in a cable modem. Runs at 500KB/s. $40/month including modem
56kb is a waste of money and most phone lines don't support it. Best I ever ran was 28.8KB/S.
Also obsolete b/c of slow speed.

If I am not mistaken you had a micron pc. Just do 1,3,4
