Tenchu's Thoughts: Why Should We Give A Brandon About Ukraine, Part 6 - The Sum Of All Fears
"Why, you may take the most gallant sailor, the most intrepid airman, or the most audacious soldier, put them at a table together and what do you get? The sum of their fears." - Winston Churchill
There are numerous reports out there saying that Russia's assault on Ukraine has stalled, that their logistics suck, that their feared military might has turned out to be weaker than expected, etc. etc.

Of course, the "logistics" problems were supposed to be temporary. After all, no plan survives first contact with the enemy. Russia, for all practical purposes, should have been able to adapt, regroup, and continue its assault on Kyiv within days, according to "experts":

Of course, that article above was published on March 8th. It is now March 17th, and Russia still hasn't gone into Kyiv. Instead, Russia is sitting back and bombing cities from afar, hoping to wear down the Ukrainians through death and dismemberment.
Meanwhile, Ukrainians are surprisingly mounting a counteroffensive:

The Nuclear Option
You might say, "That's nice, Tenchu. The Ukrainians are doing a great job. But what does that have to do with us?"
Well, with Zelensky demanding that NATO set up a "No Fly Zone," he still wants us to intervene, because as strong as the Ukrainian defense has been, the odds are still very much against them:

But of course, we won't do that.
Well why not? Because quite frankly, based on how the Russians have turned out to be weaker than expected, we could go in and "clean their clocks" with a minimal number of casualties.
The answer is absurdly obvious to everyone. We don't want to start World War III. Even President Brandon himself said so in no uncertain terms:

Basically Putin is like a suicide bomber. He's like a terrorist who has driven a gigantic truck full of explosives underneath a skyscraper, then threatened to take out the entire building if anyone dared to escape. Then he goes in shooting hostages one by one, and the hostages are left to fend for themselves.
The analogy, admittedly, is a bit tortured, but it illustrates exactly how Putin is keeping the rest of the world at bay.
And it's quite pathetic.
The North Korean Analogy
Putin is starting to look like Kim Jong-Un, who tries to threaten America with nuclear-tipped ballistic missiles, but can't even get them to launch reliably, much less equip them with technology that can get back America's anti-ballistic missile defenses:
North Korea appears to have failed in ballistic missile test (kyodonews.net)
And yeah, that's a bit of an exaggeration, not to mention a gross underestimation of Russia's threat to the world.
But Russia was once a superpower that could match America's might back during the Cold War. Heck, they even launched Sputnik, which caused a huge alarm in the West and forced America to engage in a space race, which ended up with Americans landing on the moon.
So why can't this one-time superpower easily conquer a small nation of 50M people?
Good question. Maybe Russia isn't as strong as Putin projected her to be.
But Russia still has nukes. And no matter how weak Putin turns out to be, he can ALWAYS threaten the world with nuclear annihilation, because to him, he just doesn't give a Brandon.
Putin’s Nuclear Threats Are a Wake-Up Call for the World - The Atlantic
So Putin could reverse decades of Russian economic progress with his brinkmanship and take Russia down the path of ruin like the Kim dynasty did with North Korea.
And yet even then, after Russia becomes a shadow of its former self, after even China gets sick of trying to prop up the Russian imperialist regime, Russia can still hold the entire world hostage thanks to her huge arsenal of nuclear weapons.
And that, of course, is making the rest of the world's rogue nations salivate.
Like North Korea, of course.
Or Iran, whom Brandon is stupidly trying to appease:
New U.S.-Iran Nuclear Deal? Why Biden’s Pursuit Is Dangerous And Delusional (forbes.com)
I mean, this new deal with Iran is being written by Russia and China. How dumb is that?
Even India and Pakistan can demand a "seat at the table" thanks to their nukes.
Time to ask ourselves what we are willing to tolerate, including the amount of death and destruction at the hands of a tyrant, all out of fear of nuclear war.
Because no matter how poorly Russia is waging this "conventional" war, no matter how easily we could kick their asses, Putin could always just press the red button and go down as one of the greatest villains of all time.
And I guarantee you that he doesn't give a Brandon about taking the rest of the world with him to hell.
