Well he got his seaport. I guess he wants it safer to develop as a naval port. Crimea is in a tight spot with water from Ukraine cut off. I think the Russians blasted the canal dam first thing to get the water flowing again.


If Crimea doesn't serve Russia well without water from east Ukraine, that pretty much explains everything.
