I suspect there may be a system behind the Putin hysteria. Quite likely, it’s part of preparing the public mood for war. “Normally”, enemies must be made subjects of hate. They must be dehumanized. These days, it’s not culturally acceptable to demonize an entire people. Can’t call all Russians paranoid, too warlike, descendants of Gengis Khan - and other such racist stuff.

The solution is to have a massive propaganda campaign to make the entire conflict appear to be the doing of one individual - their crazy evil dictator.

Boom! And it’s done - the dude is indeed not hard to hate. Symbolically, the enemy can be dehumanized and hated in the person of Putin. Result is the same - it’s a step towards war.

Putin Must Die!
