Well, there's a lot of other expensive stuff there in Kodiak, so Uncle Sam probably wants a great fire station for backup to his own.. Plus it's an island and everything is expensive when it probably shouldn't be or wouldn't be down in Arizona. Just got my property tax assessment. Makes me laugh and cry. I have to pay it, but the in-laws own the house. When they're gone, there's gonna be a sibling fight, I'm told. Grampa built the house for pennies on what the city says it's worth now, and he wasn't a builder, so that's where some of the laughing comes from. This is what happens when the Feds own way more than half of a State. Extortion works two ways. ;-)
