“As philosopher Joseph Campbell wrote, 'We must let go of the life we have planned, so as to accept the one that is waiting for us. '”May 21, 2017

I seldom write about the more esoteric ideas I have for fear of being seen as a more pedantic person than people already see me as.

But now that I am 80, with just a short time left, I intend to write what I want.

So here is, IMO, the most important thought I have ever had, that I have never said much about , or seen anyone put forth.

I believe the evolution we have seen on this planet goes on all over the universe, pretty much like it did here i.e. everything kills everything, as Joseph Campbell once pointed out.

And I have wondered for as long as I can remember, how do we go from everything killing everything, as the system of evolution uses, to a need for everyone being kind, or at least humans.

I spent years wondering about that and then one day I saw it. Every biological system in the universe, of course, would have the same problem, so how do we change?

The key is the "women". Women are not hard wired for war like males are. That, for the most part was never the female primates role. They are the nurturers.

But we can now see as we evolve into more conscious beings, where brains are replacing brawn, that has allowed the emancipation of women, that women are the one's stepping up to a more civilized world and in less than a 100 years!

In just a few decades where before we saw women not even being allowed to vote or attend certain colleges, women now constitute about 2/3rds of the college student body!

The world needs to actively work to educate as many women as we can so they can take the REAL role they have in evolution, nurturing the universe.

And, as a final thought, if we do survive, and I think that is doubtful, where does that take us?

I believe the great Alfred North Whitehead figured that out years ago, cosmic consciousness of sorts. He said:" we have this tendency to divide the universe into the organic and inorganic, but I believe consciousness is a third system in the universe.

So do I, and I think intelligence is pervasive in the universe. Will we join those beings, or perish by our stupidity?
