I read Bill Browder’s book. He writes well. But, curiously, even in a book he wrote himself he doesn’t come out looking very sympathetic. Capable guy. For a while, his hedge fund was the top performing fund in the world. Basically, he got into the very same game as the Russian oligarchs - all of them were using and abusing Russia’s strange-ish method of privatization of the national economy. Eventually, the Russians found fault with him and threw him out of the country.
