Apologize for having gone, perhaps, a little too far.

I knew there would be trouble in Ukraine since the days of the so called “Orange Revolution”. It was pure corruption - and it was going to have consequences.

After the Maidan - especially, after the Russian annexation of Crimea - I knew it was only the beginning. Mostly, because the loss of Crimea meant also the loss of hundreds of thousands of pro-Russian voters. The balance between the ethnic groups in the country was dead. That also meant that the Russian minority was likely to become oppressed.

To quote the Grateful Dead - “Trouble ahead, trouble behind”.

So, the war in Donbas never stopped, at 16K dead and counting. And, after years of misunderstandings and refusals to understand - here we are.

Tragic. I just hope it doesn’t get infinitely worse. Anything else we can deal with.
