Michael, I never heard anything about Jane Fonda crusading to save trees. Where did you hear that, or is it just an assumption of yours?

A few lumberman had been recently been badly injured from cutting a tree and hitting one of those wonderful earth first spikes. So I asked them, who's life would you rather save, the lumberman's life or the tree's? >>

I do not approve of spiking trees. I value a human life more than a tree's, but how do you figure it has to be the tree or the human? I spent the last week tearing out old oak trees for our housing project, because they were in the way of the next slab. I moved what I could to another location, and hopefully saved 4 of 8 live oak trees. I volunteered about 20 hours of my time to do this. How about trees and humans?
