Sounds about right, Intel was fine as long as their monopoly was intact. Pat was part of the effort to hijack the market with Itanium, Intel's proprietary effort, Intel's failed effort that was headed up by Gelsinger. Now, his plan is to advance four manufacturing nodes in three years. That is what he needs to do to catch up with TSMC.

Many Intel longs hope is for China to invade Taiwan. Xe is not going to destroy the Golden Goose to help Intel.

Good thing Gelsinger is back at Intel. And he couldn't have chosen a better time to save the company.
