Personally I don't think that the Russia of Vladimir Putin has had any intention of Military Expansion or "Invasion" of any country. Vladimir Putin has never sent the Russian Military to ANY country unless that country asked for Russia's assistance. We saw it not that long ago in Syria where the President of Syria, Bashar Al-Assad, asked for Russia's aid to assist him to overcome the threat that the radical Isis scum was posing for his country. Putin didn't hesitate because he also did not want any Radical Islamists working their way into Russia or its surrounds. And most recently in Ukraine. Vladimir Putin didn't just "march into Ukraine" as the USA did in Iraq. He first recognized the two Breakaway Republics of the Donetsk and Luhansk in the Donbas. They then, in turn, asked for Russia's assistance to counter the Ukraine + NEO-NAZI AZOV military aggressors who had been killing hundreds of innocent Russian-Speaking civilians in those two Republic by their constant indiscriminate shelling and bombardment. ONLY AFTER THEIR REQUEST did Vladimir Putin order the Russian military into Ukraine. After all, the Ukraine government must have had some recognition of the two Republics in the Donbas because in 2015 they signed the MINSK AGREEMENT OBLIGATING THEMSELVES TO HOLD DISCUSSIONS WITH THE PEOPLES OF THOSE TWO REPUBLICS TO NEGOTIATE A NEW CONSTITUTION. "Under Trump the price of oil collapsed. Russia was broke." I'm not sure where Mr. McFarland got his info from but the Russian economy is not solely reliant on its Oil exports. As it happens ----> Russia has several other MAJOR Export items which contribute to its GDP such as its Mineral exports, its Agricultural exports and its Natural Gas exports ----> Apart from supplying virtually all the EU countries with Natural Gas, Russia is exporting Large Quantities of Natural Gas via several pipelines it built to Eastern countries and to China. Russia also exports Natural Gas and Oil to India. Here we have a list of the countries to which Russia exports Natural Gas. Surprise, surprise, 6th on the list of 19 countries is the USA !! ------->
