Michael, I gather that you are not very fond of technical analysis. I wonder why you feel that way. Of course, I understand that trendlines are anathema to a contrarian. But this approach seems a bit narrow to me. Why ignore support and resistance zones, relying purely on fundamental data in choosing stocks, rather than supplement your analysis by examining supply and demand trends for shares as indicated by price history? Wouldn't it be safer to wait for technical indicators that confirm your bullish or bearish analysis, rather than hedge on being early with a 1/3 position? Or are you certain the adjustment will come with a sudden gap overnight, leaving no time to sniff out a change in the trend?
