Warring with surgical precision and limitations only extends the death and destruction. The mongols and the Kublai Khans of the world were so brutal that towns would surrender upon seeing them at the gates. Thereby sparing their lives.

That being said my thought is as yours...some politician better have a damn good reason to risk my life or my kin...we will fight...but not for bullshit reasons
