Korea, just like any manufacturer, has to go through the regulatory acceptance procedures in various countries. These type acceptance test are the same for everyone. MOT still has to get FCC approval in the US.

Again, management choose to release this data very early. Oracle didn't issue one warning last Q. Who is the more sleazy management? For that matter, QCOM could have waited a month or so before announcing this. That is, IMO, very noble to do it now and with a certain amount of honesty. Analyst are actually issuing new earnings lower than what the company said should be guidance for the next Q.

Dual mode phone is far and away the better choice to buy, which the Q isn't as of yet. That is the other drag on this Q. Q phone dual mode won't be ready until 3Q according to the company. It is depending on type acceptance by FCC and others, which is difficult at best to forecast. MOT was going to have there CDMA phone available this Q. I could say right now that they are late.
