SANTA ANA, Calif., Feb. 9 /PRNewswire/ -- Landmark Communications Inc.
( thriftyisp.com ), a leading global Internet strategy and
networking services firm has signed a contract with ICG Communications, Inc. (NASDAQ:ICGX) for $600,000.00 for two DS-3 circuits for its T1 access hub in Irvine, California. This hub connects to the ICG POP (Point of Presence) at the One Wilshire Building in Los Angeles, and then to a 155 mb/s OC-3c ATM backbone to MAE West through Bay Networks routers. Four additional locations are planned. Central Los Angeles will be opened by April and the other three by 9/98. Each location contributes to a rise in revenue & profit. As of February 6, 1998 the first DS-3 has been sold to capacity, and the 2nd is projected to be full by the end of February. "The outpouring of demand that resulted from than marketing of low cost, high quality Internet services shows us that businesses are hungry for this type of connection and service," said William Kettle, president and chief executive officer of Landmark Communications. "Electronic Commerce, Telecommuting, video and voice over the Internet are now a reality, making a T-1 connection the ideal choice for small and medium sized businesses," said Bryan L. Turbow, President, MobileNetics Corporation. "By using switches and routers from Bay Networks, we can maintain near-perfect network reliability while experiencing explosive growth."

ICG ( icgcomm.com ) headquartered in Englewood, Colorado, is a leading national competitive local exchange carrier (C-LEC). Recently, ICG has completed a merger with Netcom On-Line Communications Services for $283 million. Netcom currently has 500,000 customers.
