You miss the whole point of NATO because you are a one dimensional Trumpie who looks at life solely through the eyes of Donald Trump. NATO was formed to provide collective security against the Soviet Union. That is to say, NATO was formed to prevent further Soviet expansion. Do keep in mind that NATO is nothing without the USA. You do understand, I hope, that US military strength is the only thing within NATO to deter Russia from attempting further expansion. That is what the Russia/Ukraine war is all about, unless you have become a Russian sympathasizer, like the whole politics for pros thread, led by Skinowski, the chief Russian sympathizer.

Some of the Euro counties, led by Germany, have decided to increase their military spending, which is good. But still, the only deterrent within NATO is the USA military strength. Trump's attack on NATO was nothing more than an attempt to prop up Putin's Russia.
