"All in all, it looks to me only one group of firmware engineer can make good RAID product, if we got looser leading engineers from MYLX, how can we expect the ADPT RAID product to compete with AMI."
I happen to know several engineers in ADPT, including RAID group's software manager. The only thing I can tell you is - I am not worry about their engineering capability (in RAID) at all. AMI is a private owned BIOS company, they are much smaller in size comparing to ADPT. ADPT should be able to leverage their marketing strength far better. Personally, I never think ADPT has the best technology (even in SCSI), but it has the best manufacturing, QA and most importantly, channels/brand name. Technology is only part of the equation. ADPT, link Intel, owns virtually ALL the key players as customers in this industry, IMHO. |
