New Zealand should be stopping the war, not joining in. USA/Nuland and gang started it.
Herding impulse is very hard to control. It’s easy to fall into a wave of misguided unity about something. Often, it’s a matter of survival - to a mob, those who are not with them are against them. They’ll fire you, or cancel you or worse. It’s easier for older folks who may not be as engaged with those who are overly engaged. For NZ it may be important to remain with the their usual “family of the nations”. Just look what is happening to Hungary - and they haven’t even strayed all that far, they still went along with the vote to suspend Russia from the Human Rights. So, I wouldn’t blame NZ too harshly.

Hopeless? Maybe. But my archaic brain tells me for as long as there are children, never lose hope. Maybe that’s the problem with big nuke wars - something deep in us is protesting against possibly losing all hope.
