You know, Bob. I look around the world and all I see are lying thieves. I can't name one honest "leader" currently in office at a national level .

If the criteria to be a politician would be 100% honesty, we would NOT have politicians nor leaders.
Politicians are no different from “us”. Well, maybe a little different as they bend the truth in public while “we” do it in private.

Never understood why people would want to get into politics aside from … “The salaries are lousy BUT the perks are great”.
