The character of the war will be changing. More long range artillery, missiles. I suspect, the Russians may start paying more attention to Western Ukraine, as all those Stingers, Javelins, tanks and trucks enter the country. If people and civilian infrastructures will be hit on the Donbas side - it’s unlikely to be the Russian army shelling their own.

Likely outcomes? Regardless of whether walking away from Kiev was part of a strategy - or, plain retreat - the Ukrainian side is inspired. They’re doing great in the propaganda wars, as well. That means - no meaningful chance for a negotiated settlement in the near future. The next round is on.

We shall see what happens — assuming that sickos and idiots will not succeed in dragging the US into the war.
