Applied Computer Technology Receives Renewal Contract from State of Colorado

FORT COLLINS, Colo.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Feb 9, 1998--Applied Computer Technology, Inc.
(NASDAQ: ACTI), a high-quality provider of complete, customized information system
solutions to performance-driven businesses, government institutions and public
organizations, today announced that the State of Colorado has renewed
its annual purchase contract with the company for the second consecutive year.
Under the terms of the contract, all Colorado State agencies, institutions,
universities, and political subdivisions can purchase computers from
Applied Computer Technology and other contract awardees. Applied Computer
Technology received an estimated $5 million in orders from the State of Colorado
and political subdivisions in 1997.

said Bud Prentice, President, CEO of Applied Computer Technology. Prentice
continued, "In response to this continuing opportunity, the Company is
intensifying its sales efforts to Colorado State agencies. We have enjoyed

directly with our State of Colorado Account Executives, and we anticipate
that he will be successful in growing this valuable portion of the Company's
business."
