I have purposefully avoided most ‘news’ about Ukraine, from any source, for a couple of reasons, both of which are slogans doing my thinking for me, lol:
1. The first casualty of war is the truth;
2. War is hell.
I know things are bad, that innocents are dying, etc., and I’m appalled at man’s inhumanity to man, but in this world where objectivity is as rare as a frog’s hair, I believe no one concerning specific events. Certainly not the media, whether it’s Russian, Ukrainian, American, European, etc. They’re all liars and spinners.
Historians will sort it out, perhaps.
In the meantime, a pox on all their houses.
This, however, is interesting. A Grand Strategy tome by a Defense Department bigwig charged in 2018 with revising America’s defense strategy. Reading it now. Colby is his last name, and I believe he is William Colby’s son.
