I had a good explanation all typed up for you and poof.

Basically French elections are rigged. The rigged system was started by Charles De Gaulle and the Fifth Republic back in 1957. A coalition of centrist candidates would collaborate to participate in the election with the understanding that the winner would place the losers in high ranking position within his new administration.

IOW...........it was bribery and extortion. When one of them inevitably won, the others would overwhelmingly endorse him.

For years this left the hard left and hard right candidates out of the running with zero chance of advancing in the election.

But this time around the center right candidate received only 5% of the vote, and the center left candidate did even worse.............he got only 2% of the vote. (The last center right candidate in France was Nicholas Sarkozy and the last center left candidate in France was Francois Hollande.)

Marine Le Pen only got 15% of the 18-24 vote in 2012. She got 40% of that demographic in 2017, and this time around she got 56% of the 18-24 vote.

There is a cultural backlash against ridiculous woke leftist ideology going on not only in the U.S. but around the world. It may not happen this time, but the Left's time in the sunshine is coming to an end and there is nothing they can do about it.
