Brad was truly one heck of an interesting guy to talk to, on so many levels. We had talks on everything from (of course) SI to our personal lives to the world in general. Brad's view on society was, let's just say, interesting. For example, at one point he urged me to read, and then sent me, Reinventing Collapse by Dmitry Orlov... which seems someone relevant once again given the terrible situation in Ukraine.

In person, when I was so fortunate to meet him and his wife and kids at a horse show nearby, he was just a great guy. We had lots of fun biking around the town the show was in. He still loved to program, and would often volunteer his time to needy organizations around where he lived. So sad.
