True, but only one can be president. I sense that DeSantis would rather be the Gov of Fl than the VP. Or maybe I’m wrong.

I have great respect for Trump. The nation owes him a lot. He gave us a chance to see our ruling classes for what they are - this alone gives the nation a chance of being able to fix things. He forced the nation to recognize that something is deeply wrong with our media. We can think of many more things we owe him. The list is long.

On the down side, his greater-than-life personality made it all very much about him personally. He came in as an outsider - but he also left as an outsider, unable to build a broader following among the ruling classes. His appointments at all levels, generally, left to be desired. He didn’t know the people he was appointing - and had to rely on others. Too many of them, all the way to his VP - left him disappointed. His legal support lacked badly. He knew Rudy well, but… Rudy is not what he used to be.

And so forth, on both sides of the ledger. Worth mentioning that Mr Trump is getting old. The country is falling into this gerontocracy trap, and it’s not a good thing.

Overall, though… it’s nice to be able to chose the best from among excellent candidates.
