Brad, Jeff and Jill
or
Our SI

Goodbye Brad, thank you for creating SI, thank you for figuring it out.
I am so glad that this world allowed you some time and some money, it was well deserved.
I never met you or knew you but your work played a part in my life and it will continue to do so.
It is hard to define what SI means to me personally and I am sure many others feel the same way.
I arrived here with a lot of jilted Bre-X investors, all of us busy looking for real answers.
We didn't find all the answers, instead we found something we weren't looking for, a community.
My youngest son was born on the day Go2Net purchased SI twenty four years ago, a generation has passed.
He was a child whose birth was celebrated by strangers, strangers who were connected by SI.
Today the fabric of my life has many threads that were started or created here on SI.
My worldview today is a result of viewpoints and thoughts shared here on SI by many people.
I have found experts and confidants, enemies and allies and others whose ideas have shaped my ideas.
So for a final time thanks Brad, and thanks as well to Jeff and Jill.

Godspeed on your journey Brad.
I offer my best wishes and respect to those left behind.
We will miss you but that is not too unusual.
We missed you when you were no longer active here and it's easy to imagine that you are still reading.
And if this world has a purpose, I think your work here on SI was part of it.
SI seems like a gentle backwater today but the pool is perhaps deeper than it ever was.
What you and Jeff wrought here remains active and connected in a way that is difficult to decipher.
I am glad that I can continue to try and figure out what it all means as the years pass.
So until we meet again Brad, salut.
