What a great story!

For many years I went to work wearing a jacket and tie. Gradually, I realized that one older doctor - who, I thought, was the sharpest dresser in the hospital - during the summer months wore only a shirt and no tie. I spoke to him about it - it turns out, he made a decision many years ago - no jackets or ties from the Memorial Day until the Labor Day.

I adopted the same rule - and thanked him more than once in the following years. It was a life changer… LOL

Btw, imho, summer hats are a great idea. After 3 skin cancers, you’ll seldom find me in the sun without a hat on. Unless I’m swimming.
