The Doctor Is In

I am going to post a more extensive introduction to myself in the near future, and how quite serendipitously I ended up becoming a Tar Heel and getting my Ph.D. (“Doctor of Philosophy”, following Aristotle’s lead through the Middle Ages and the Renaissance all learning, including Mathematics, Science and Politics, were considered to be subfields of Philosophy) in the Mathematics of Fractals and the coexistence of Determinism with Chaos in Complex Polynomial Dynamical Systems. For now, here’s an introduction to my investing in AI & Robotics.

  • Re: Introduction, FWIW, I got hit by the fifteen minute post editing SI limit again so didn’t get the machine learning videos embedded in time.

  • Introduction (Addendum), I realized in reviewing the Introduction material I posted that the “Coming Singularity” post I linked gave only the material from John Pitera’s original 2017 Introduction Header to the “Singularity, AI, etc.” message board which he moderated. But it omitted the material from John’s Introduction Header on NVIDIA’s GPU (“Graphics Processing Unit”) chips and how they would lead to a revolution in AI and NVIDIA’s worldwide dominance, due to their ability to do parallel processing, as well as how the future of AI would rely on ASIC (“Application-Specific Integrated Circuits”), specifically Google’s TPU (“Tensor Processing Unit”) chips.

  • Introduction to My Investing:
From Seeking Apha:

Nothing wrong with a portfolio of AI & Robotics companies. I have NVIDIA, Google, AMD, Qualcomm, and Baidu, among others, for different reasons. Qualcomm leads the mobile AI & Robotics market. AMD is eating Intel’s lunch for CPU’s for data centers and supercomputers and just bought Xilinx making it a legitimate AI & Robotics contender. Google has many AI & Robotics “Moon Shots” including Waymo, Deep Mind, Intrinsic , Everyday Robots, etc., Baidu is the #1 AI and Robotics play in China, which is the #2 player in the world after the U.S., with plans to become #1 by 2030, and of course there’s NVIDIA, #1 in the world in GPUs for graphics cards, data centers and supercomputers, AI deep neural networks models for autonomous driving and natural language processing, the Metaverse including Digital Twins and Digital Avatars, an enormous growth opportunity. Cheers!
