Re <<... learn from ... so it goes ...>>

Coconut’s past is done, and going forward about to happen

1. She pays attention to the more immediate (dorm room accessories - waste paper basket, pens and pencils, note books, bulletin boards, stuffed animals, organisers, wall decorations, etc, and yes, winter clothing - she does not have any serious winter gear!) and background-processing on what strategic path to develop options for, and law is tucked in there somewhere, specifically patent law (I have no idea why)

2. I am the one fussing over the minutia of IT equipment, local health insurance, etc etc adult stuff

3. She, on own volition and ah-ha initiative organised a get-together of the 7 kids (of kids originating from HK local, and those of expatriate background from around the planet and ended up in HK) from HK (from 3-4 high schools) who shall attend barring last minute changes due to wait-list protocol. The grouping is representative given the diversity-protocol practice by the acceptance process even for international students albeit more different than those presumably applied to US domestic cohort

4. Looking over the hundreds of courses on offer

5. The Mrs and I are deliberating whether we or just one of us, if any, should accompany the coconut to college town and actually see her moved into the dorm. So far likely just me, if any, as the Jack’s school (6th grade) opens at the same time, and given risks of Covid this and that, keeping it simple.

6. I insisted (promised) I shall de-camp the college town same day as she moves-in.

7. Alternatively, my sister-in-law can welcome the nut to home in Oregon and then accompany her eastward - risk unknowns and unknowable’s.

8. All the school’s dance groups as well as the dance company approached her for recruiting the next generation

9. But, I really do want to accompany her, to see her face light up as she opens the door to her independence. She is the sensitive sort and knows it is time to flex wings

10. Turned out that the Coconut and I independently came to research the issues by way of Youtube Vlogs, and must say, by the looks and feel of the personalities who filmed and those who are featured in the vlogs, the coconut fits in like a coconut in the great big valley. Just super.

11. Also watched and forwarded “what I hate about …” and “what I love about …”

12. In any case, when the Coconut was little (2-3 years young) she always loved bears, calling them ‘bebe’ but always cried whenever we put on a video about bears and so we never tried to watch such from NatGeo, Discovery and such. The nut simply and intuitively knew that bad happenings can happen to the little bears when mama is not around. Sigh.

Also had to contingency plan lock-down protocol and where to go what and how to do in case Covid goes bad again (stay in place, on campus, and do zoom, with cohort of similar mind)

It is time :0( and :0) averaging out to be :0) per been there and done that and a lot of fun fun fun even when not fun
