I had a car that would burn through points after only 3,000 miles sometimes. and strand me on the road.

I still have my dwell tach and my timing light from the late 70's. Why? I have no idea.

It seemed you would need to replace the coil once every 3-years on cars in the 70's and 80's. I don't miss that at all. Another thing that would strand you even if it was just real humid.
