Putin’s goal now is to surround and destroy the pro Ukrainian army with heavy artillery. Zelensky conscripts, who have been cannon fodder, have been surrendering in droves. Most of that pro army is in Donbas region.
The idea is to pound them from afar avoiding ambushes that have been costly for the Russian troops.
The logistics of Ukrainian army is bad, many units are out of food and fuel. Without takings sides, I expect Putin to win. Western sanctions did not affect Russia either, the ruble is back to where it was on Feb. 24 and higher. The losses of Ukrainian army are huge, they are not disclosed. The Russians have appointed a butcher general who will now do scorched earth campaign from the East to the West of Ukraine. It’s not gonna be pretty for civilians, but the Russians will likely win. They will bomb the Ukrainian army into oblivion, try to
get the conscripts to surrender.
