I've had early assignments that were three different time periods.

Sometimes only a partial.

It depends on how many a broker has in their total portfolio. vs the open interest and then those who assign early. It is prorated over the firms entire position.

Happens mostly if the assignment is brought forward early, before the final day of expiration.
