After Getting Inflation so Wrong Can the Fed Now Get it Right?

proshareng.com

They were predicting inflation to come down in 2022.

"Mr Dudley says the next test for the Fed may come next year. Given the ebbing of pandemic distortions, inflation may well tick down over the rest of 2022. That, however, will not get America back to an annual inflation rate of 2%."

You would think they would've acted in small steps before now, realizing that the separation of supply chains from China is going to take at least 3 or more years and probably much longer. China realized this and set a policy of reserving low cost materials and supplies for their domestic consumption. China has more latitude to raise prices of goods sold in the US if the latter is determined to produce goods in high-cost locations.
