Again, what does Russia gain by taking over bite-sized pieces of Ukraine?

A "landlocked" Ukraine? Big fuckin' deal.

A land bridge to Crimea? Yeah right, that bridge will now be under constant attack.

Access to natural resources that they didn't have before? Maybe PooTin thinks El Dorado exists there.
