Russia was never cornered, since the inception of the Rus from around the Lake Ladoga taking over what we know today as Russia.

TJ I spend many hours that add up to months learning about Russia and still do not understand the logic of the people that do arrive and do stay at the top, mostly by pure cruelty and murder of opponents to the extent of killing their own brothers or sons
