Highlights of the News

ITEM 1: Today ends a pretty good week. Spotify ditched the Obamas (but kept Joe Rogan).

Another employer of the Obamas (Netflix) saw its stock crash by 35% after brokers learned it had a net loss of subscribers.

Discovery announced CNN+ will die on April 30, just one month after it launched.

A Trump judge in Florida ended the mask mandate on airplanes.

The Washington Post tried (and failed) to bring down Libs of Tik Tok for exposing what liberals really think. The Twitter account had 639,000 followers when the article came out. Three days later it had 939,000.

And best of all, Ron DeSantis got liberals to openly support a tax break for a multinational corporate giant that owns ABC, ESPN, Pixar and Disney.

As Reagan said, we win, they lose.

ITEM 2: Ron Howard masked up to protect strangers but not his own son.

Awkward!

ITEM 3: Fox reported, "The Tennessee legislature passed a bill Wednesday that would require drunk drivers to pay child support if they kill a parent and are convicted of vehicular homicide due to intoxication.

"The legislation passed through the Tennessee Senate on Wednesday following an amendment to rename the bill after the two daughters of state police officer Nicholas Galinger, who was killed in a hit-and-run by a drunk driver in 2019."

Makes sense.

Now to get the governor to make sense and sign it -- the courts to allow it.

ITEM 4: The Post Millennial reported, "Emily Mais, a former assistant principal at Agnor-Hurt Elementary School, is suing the Albemarle County Public Schools board in Charlottesville, Virginia, for allegedly creating 'a racially hostile work environment' that targeted non-black employees through the introduction of critical race theory agendas.

"Her story culminates with the white educator accidentally saying 'colored people' instead of 'people of color,' before quickly apologizing for the gaffe. A black teacher's aide didn't like that, and the incident started an alleged retaliatory harassment campaign that led Mais to resign from her job over the abuse.

"Mais is suing on the basis of having her freedom of speech suppressed and violated, viewpoint discrimination after these racial workshops led the staff to allegedly brand her as a racist, wrongful discharge in violation of public policy, along with creating a retaliatory and racially hostile work environment in violation of the Virginia Human Rights Act."

There's your democracy in action.

The law and the Constitution exist to protect you from an angry mob.

ITEM 5: CNN reported, "In the days following the January 6 insurrection, House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy told Republican lawmakers on a private conference call that then-President Donald Trump had admitted bearing some responsibility for the deadly attack, according to new audio – a significant admission that sheds light on Trump’s mindset in the immediate aftermath of the US Capitol riots.

"A readout of that conversation, which took place on January 11, 2021, had been previously reported by CNN. But two New York Times reporters obtained an audio recording of the conference call for their upcoming book, This Will Not Pass: Trump, Biden and the Battle for America’s Future, and shared it with CNN."

Yes, it is NYT reporting but they seem to have proof.

Speaker Steve Scalise? Democrats literally tried to kill him.

ITEM 6: Politico reported, "Exclusive: Madison Cawthorn photos reveal him wearing women's lingerie in public setting."

Oh noes!

HuffPost reported, "Rep. Madison Cawthorn (R-N.C.) said Friday that photos published by Politico showing him wearing women’s lingerie were 'goofy vacation photos taken during a game on a cruise.'

"The political news site had published the images earlier Friday, noting they were taken in what 'appears to be a party setting.' The site juxtaposed the photos with comments the congressman has made about adhering to 'traditional values.'

"Politico said the pics were given to the outlet by a person formerly close to Cawthorn and his campaign and were confirmed by a second person who also was formerly close to Cawthorn.

"However, the website admitted it was still unclear exactly when the photos were taken."

The pencil-necked transphobes at Politico are so awful at yellow journalism that even HuffPost called them out.

ITEM 7: Just the News reported, "Buttigieg floats 'monthly transportation payment' that 'covers everything' to replace car payments."

Huh?

He said, "What I mean by that is if we're looking way out into the future, where we have things like, let's imagine distributed energy generation where you have resources at your house, whether it's a dramatically more efficient, even solar panels and wind resources.

"From your home, you can put more into the transportation system than you get out of it through things like energy, so that you would participate in creating so much value that you'd actually get a net dividend on it, instead of paying into it on a net basis. Now, that's pretty far out."

Far out.

Sounds like he's found Kamala's stash of weed.

ITEM 8: The Washington Post reported, "The White House is preparing for a potential barrage of Republican-led congressional investigations next year, hiring new staffers and positioning itself to respond to aggressive inquiries if the GOP takes control of one or both chambers of Congress, according to people familiar with the moves.

"Senior officials have begun strategizing on how various White House departments, especially the counsel’s office, may be restructured to respond to an onslaught of investigative requests if Democrats lose control of the House or the Senate in November’s midterm elections, as many in both parties expect.

"The moves reflect an expectation that newly ascendant House Republicans in particular would immediately launch oversight investigations into such matters as the business dealings of President Biden’s son Hunter, the rocky U.S. withdrawal from Afghanistan, the administration’s handling of the coronavirus pandemic and other politically sensitive matters."

After watching the double impeachment clown show Democrats and RINOs ran for 4 years, it will be interesting to see how Washington handles actual corruption, actual incompetence and actual malfeasance.

ITEM 9: Zero Hedge reported, "Over the last 24 hours, former President Barack Obama and twice-failed presidential hopeful Hillary Clinton have come out against free speech - calling for big tech to go further to censor views they disagree with.

"On Thursday, Obama told an audience at Stanford University that tech companies are 'turbo-charging some of humanity’s worst impulses,' adding 'One of the biggest reasons for the weakening of democracy is the profound change that’s taken place in how we communicate and consume information.'

"He then said that people are 'dying because of disinformation.'"

Obama said you could keep your doctor.

Obama said Benghazi was the result of a video.

Obama said Trump colluded with Putin to steal the 2016 election.

Obama is a one-man Ministry of Disinformation.

ITEM 10: Just the News reported, "Ten Republicans have filed petitions to run in the state's Republican gubernatorial primary to vie for the right to challenge Michigan Democratic Gov. Gretchen Whitmer.

"Of the 13 declared candidates, ten cleared the 15,000 signatures threshold necessary to run in the August primary, setting a state record for the most filed candidates within the same party in a gubernatorial race, according to the Epoch Times."

Too many candidates. This helps her.

ITEM 11: CNN reported, "DeSantis signs raft of bills cheered by Republicans: targeting Disney, approving new congressional map and restricting how schools teach racism."

Wait a second. Why do we have "schools teach racism"? Maybe if they didn't, we would not have any.

ITEM 12: The League of Women Voters of Florida announced it " joined Black Voters Matter Capacity Building Institute, Equal Ground Education Fund, Florida Rising Together and several individual Florida voters in filing a lawsuit challenging Florida’s new congressional map.

"The League and the other plaintiffs argue the congressional map, insisted upon by Gov. DeSantis and approved by the state legislature, was not drawn in compliance with the governing laws surrounding redistricting in Florida presently."

Every time I read or hear about the League of Women Voters, I remember that congressional debate it held in Illinois in 2010 between Democrat incumbent Melissa Bean and Republican Joe Walsh. When moderator Kathy Tate-Brandish refused to let the audience begin the debate by pledging allegiance to the flag, they did so anyway.

Walsh won the election, Bean lost.

DeSantis should have his lawyer start each hearing with the Pledge of Allegiance.

ITEM 13: Biden said, "This is not your father’s Republican Party. This is a different deal, not a joke. And it’s not just Trump, it’s the MAGA crowd. It’s all about things that have nothing to do with traditional conservative doctrine."

I totally agree. We are not going to roll over and play nice. We are not going to carry water for the Chamber of Commerce. And we certainly are not going to surrender on social issues.

This movement is bigger than Gingrich, bigger than Palin, bigger than Trump and bigger than DeSantis because we are fighting an enemy from within that is deeply entrenched.

The old Judas goats of the past who led conservatives astray -- Bill Kristol, George Will and National Review -- are irrelevant.

Trump will be a pussycat compared to the next man we send to the White House.

ITEM 14: Tech Raider reported, "Netflix cancels multiple shows amid huge subscriber loss."

I cannot understand that.

How can this be after Netflix signed those two super-duper movie producers Michelle and Barack Obama for all that money?

ITEM 15: Just the News reported, "A Texas National Guard solider is thought to have drowned Friday in his attempted to rescue migrants from a river along the U.S. border with Mexico, according to multiple reports Friday.

"Fox News initially confirmed the incident with the Texas Department of Public Safety."

Biden did this by trying to erase our border. He is a sick man.
