Not at this point, but the whole meaning of the message was that things have are probably going to get worse, that there is no option open to anyone at this time except escalation, and escalation is dangerous. And our boys' boots do not have to be in Ukraine for some very nasty consequences to take place.

Are we ready, as Mearsheimer suggests, to have the Russians be forced to use tactical nukes in Ukraine? He thinks they are quite capable of using them. If so, what is our response? What do the Euros do? Are you ready to have a major nuclear exchange with Russia over a far away piece of real estate? What happens to the taboo on using nukes in existence since 1945? Do you want to see that gone? Not me.

There is a whole flock of black swans flying over Ukraine.

We had and have no business in Ukraine (well, Hunter and 10%Joe did, and its was very lucrative).

We have forgotten how to let others sort out their own problems. If that means letting Russia and Ukraine duke it out, so be it. But to promote the conflict by having NATO invite Georgia and Ukraine to join it in 2008 was beyond stupid.

We do not have a monopoly on virtue, and every time we cloak ourselves in it to support this or that cause, bad shit seems to happen.
