I can often times pin someone's age by the way they describe occupations in sexist ways.

-Mailman instead of Mail Carrier (one of my neighbors in the 70's was a female mail carrier).
-Fireman instead of Fire Fighter
-Policeman instead of Police Officer
-Calling Nurses "she." I had a male nurse in 1968 attend to me when my eye was almost torn out of my head and I had to spend 2-weeks in the hospital. I spent another year seeing specialists to make sure it healed. I also have a nephew who is a nurse and also teaches nursing.

I have a strong daughter who I've tried to empower in all ways possible as she has grown up. I never want her to know limits to what she can do. I always want her to reach out and get what's possible and even what may not seem possible.

In our house, we're in the business of making the impossible possible, whenever we can.
