MCHP is perhaps in the same space (generic boring making of random semis, mainly micro controllers, older tech geometries). In fact, MCHP is a better pick than SIMO for a lower end market rally I think, SIMO is pretty specific (NAND flash memory controllers, that's it), MCHP is more general and exposed.
I don't know much about DIOD.

Yeah, SIMO is pretty unique. It has recently done very well fundamentally, but can't (until the recent acquisition chatter) get a reasonable multiple from the market. Maybe that's why they're finally selling themselves (hopefully),
