Yes there is and those that experienced the Holocaust and their children are a diminishing small part of the State of Israel population, with very few entering politics.

I wrote an extensive explanation and by mistake trying to insert links it was erased. So will not repeat all.

The schools and the IDF do a great job IMHO ( by brainwashing like I was ) to glue together a new identity of very different ethnic groups and their heritage based mostly on equality and big efforts to avoid ethnic discrimination which still exist.

Unfortunate the wisdom written in the Hebrew Bible, the Mishnah, ( en.wikipedia.org ) Talmud ( en.wikipedia.org ) and Gemara ( en.wikipedia.org ) are many times very wrongly interpreted more so that some comments are written in an extinct languages with each ethnic group interpreting the writing as their understanding to the extend that there are big rivalries between the adherents to the teachings and interpretations of one Rabbi to another Rabbi even in our days.

Within those ultra religious groups there is no mixing by inter-cultural marriages and some even deny the actual existence of the State of Israel and the ruling of law if not to their interpretation.

Extremism cover all types of political spectrum from very liberal too very ultra-nationalistic and fascistic, but one very sacred principle unify them all - the life of a human being.

There is an interpretation that says;

"If you save the life of one person it is as if you saved the life of the whole world" with which I totally agree
