Highlights of the News

ITEM 1: Elon Musk is the richest man in the world. He is also the bravest. He just spent $45 billion to become the biggest individual target of fascism in world history.

They will destroy the man.

The left controls so much of the media that it just irks them when conservatives have one (Fox under Roger Ailes) or when a site is neutral (Twitter under Musk).

Meanwhile, all the failed Twitter wannabes -- Gab, Parler, Trump's entry -- became even more irrelevant.

ITEM 2: CNN reported, "A federal judge in Louisiana temporarily blocked the Biden administration from ending a Trump-era pandemic restriction on the US-Mexico border.

"The Biden administration had been on track to end the public health authority, known as Title 42, on May 23, a decision that has been criticized by Republicans and Democrats alike. The measure allows border authorities to turn migrants back to Mexico or their home countries because of the public health crisis.

"Monday’s order from Judge Robert Summerhays is unlikely to change the situation on the ground, given that the public health authority remains in place, but it may throw a wrench in the administration’s plans moving forward."

Trump judge.

Hate the Turtle all you want, but Cocaine Mitch did get us plenty of Trump judges.

ITEM 3: The Daily Wire reported, "Democrats in Washington state are cracking down on marijuana — not the actual drug, the word itself.

"The Evergreen State legislature recently passed a bill banning the word marijuana from official state law and documents over concerns that it is racist. At the same time, to help increase diversity in the cannabis business, a taxpayer-funded task force has been spending the last two years focusing on helping minorities in Washington state break into the marijuana business."

This follows the communist the that we banned marijuana to target blacks and Mexicans.

Sigh.

History isn't written by the winners, but by the ignorant.

ITEM 4: The Washington Times reported, "President Biden said Monday that French President Emmanuel Macron didn’t take his call to congratulate the French leader on his election night victory. Mr. Biden said he spoke with Mr. Macron’s staff when he tried to reach the French president Sunday night and he’ll try again Monday."

He's the Rodney Dangerfield of world leaders.

ITEM 5: Washington Free Beacon reported, "Uber's decision to waive delivery fees from black-owned restaurants during the George Floyd riots could cost the company $91 million.

"A New York appeals court ruled this week that the ride-share giant must pay the costs to the American Arbitration Association, which is handling 31,000 claims against the race-based promotion, which users say violated civil rights law.

"Uber's terms of use provide that disputes with the company will be settled in arbitration administered by the AAA. The conservative litigation boutique Consovoy McCarthy PLLC under that provision filed demands against the company on behalf of thousands of customers.

"Roberta Kaplan, the Democrat superlawyer and inaugural winner of the Washington Free Beacon‘s Bill Clinton Award for Feminist Achievement, is representing Uber. Kaplan resigned in disgrace from the feminist group Time's Up following revelations that she helped ex-governor Andrew Cuomo (D., N.Y.) smear female aides who accused him of sexual misconduct."

Racism is bad.

And expensive.

ITEM 6: The Daily Mail reported, "Google has launched an ‘inclusive language’ function designed to avoid the use of politically incorrect words.

"Users typing ‘landlord’ will see a warning that it ‘may not be inclusive to all readers’ with the suggestion they should try ‘property owner’ or ‘proprietor’ instead.

"The word ‘humankind’ is a suggested alternative to what the online giant apparently sees as the controversial term ‘mankind.’"

I have a suggested alternative.

Dogpile.

ITEM 7: AP reported, "A judge in Phoenix has dismissed lawsuits seeking to disqualify three Republican lawmakers from the ballot because they participated in or helped organize the Jan. 6, 2021, rally in Washington that ended with an unprecedented attack on Congress. Maricopa County Superior Court Judge Christopher Coury’s decision was made public on Friday.

"It means Reps. Paul Gosar and Andy Biggs and state Rep. Mark Finchem remain on the ballot. Gosar and Biggs are seeking reelection and Finchem is running for Secretary of State, Arizona’s chief election officer.

"The lawsuits filed on behalf of a handful of Arizona voters alleged that the politicians can’t hold office because they participated in an insurrection.

"According to Maricopa County Recorder Stephen Richer, the dismissal has been appealed to the Arizona Supreme Court."

Calling something an insurrection does not make it so.

Due process requires proof beyond a reasonable doubt to deprive someone of their rights.

ITEM 8: Jonathan Tamari of the Philadelphia Inquirer tweeted, "Every GOP candidate in PA Sen says they would support legislation to ban transgender women from participating in women's sports - in a question specifically citing Penn's Lia [Will] Thomas."

That's another reason I see Republicans keeping that seat.

ITEM 9: Just the News reported, "Former President Donald Trump should be the chief negotiator in talks with Russian President Vladimir Putin over ending the invasion of Ukraine, retired Lt. Gen. Keith Kellogg said Monday.

"Kellogg, former National Security Council chief of staff under Trump, made the remark on the John Solomon Reports podcast when asked who should negotiate with Putin."

Only if he gets a Trump Tower Kyiv out of the deal.

ITEM 10: We Love Trump reported, "Kash Patel tells us that Durham’s pleading indicates something interesting."The Special Counsel told defendants that they are wholly unaware of the evidence which he has, and due to this the statute of limitations argument does not apply.

"Apparently, Durham has far more material to work with than the defense initially realized.

"This should terrify Hillary Clinton, and all those who worked with her on her 2016 campaign, but will we actually see Durham close in on her?

"One can only hope that we see justice for a conspiracy that would blow Watergate out of the water."

Maybe the real insurrectionists will get what they deserve.

ITEM 11: The Washington Examiner reported, "Judge invokes Buddha and throws out Kansas redistricting maps in blow to GOP."

Democrat judge, so he follows his heart not the law.

ITEM 12: The Center Square reported, "Mississippi residents who are not vaccinated will not be discriminated against under a new law, Gov. Tate Reeves said.

"The governor announced he has signed House Bill 1509, which will place a ban on public institutions and agencies from discriminating against residents based on COVID-19 vaccination status."

Get vaccinated or don't. It's your body, your choice.

ITEM 13: The Daily Mail reported, "A rare 'forgotten' cask of whisky, bought for £5,000 more than 30 years ago, has sold for more than £1 million at auction in what is said to be a new world record.

"Whisky enthusiasts from around the world placed bids on the 374-litre cask, distilled at The Macallan in 1988, in the online auction which ended on Sunday evening.

"It sold for $1,295,500 (£1,017,000) in the online auction on the Whisky Hammer site, breaking the record set in 2021 by Bonhams for the sale of a 30-year-old, re-racked, Sherry hogshead from Macallan, which fetched $574,000 (£439,000)."

Tom T. Hall nailed it.

ITEM 14: The Washington Examiner reported, "In a new I&I/TIPP poll, just 29% of Democrats picked President Joe Biden. And tied for second at 12% were Vice President Kamala Harris and “Not Sure.”

"And that’s Biden’s base. Throw in Republicans and independents, and the president in the national survey drops to 19%, beat handily by Not Sure at 28%."

Maybe Democrats should do what they did in 1872 and nominate no one.

ITEM 15: Florida Politics reported, "Gov. Ron DeSantis on Monday signed SB 524, which contains numerous changes to state election laws, including setting up a police force dedicated to voter fraud and increasing the penalty for ballot harvesting to a third-degree felony."

Another day, another right protected by the Sultan of the Sunshine State.
