OT: I got out of school in the midst of the 70s oil crises. Couldn't find a job at all. Finally got a min. wage job in a darkroom, but rent, heat and food left nothing to repay loans. After 18 months of that, I said screw it, and enlisted. Had a plan to send 60% of my pay home to pay college loans and a Datsun B210. Worked great. The math still works today, for students with average debt. I didn't even become an officer, until I re-upped, and my car and loans were paid.
