This was actually my point.
It is perfectly possible to highly reduce the corruption that is so prevalent in the US politics. Stop corporate and union campaign contributions and close loopholes on individual contributions. Then publicly fund the campaigns based on fair and objective criteria. And while you are at it, stop gerrymandering.

But that does not happen because almost all of them are a bunch of crooks that do not want to see their pay offs come to a halt.
