She is wonderful.

I think both - the participants and the observers of this war - are kind of trapped by the events. I’m surprised that more Europeans don’t have the same view as this lady - they should know better. Australia is all emotional about their national security - because China may have a military base over 2000km from their border - but Russia red lining NATO expansion into Ukraine is stupid and absurd. The argument suddenly becomes “what difference does it make? If it comes to nukes, the rockets fly fast - and distance doesn’t matter”.

But the point is to avoid the use of nukes. Had Ukraine been a nato member, some extreme Azov battalion guys could attack Russians (or their interests) — and any pushback from Russia would mean military action against a NATO member. And Boom! A big war is on.
