I'll answer it, dumb question that it is. I'm sick of looking at it.

Of course he would refuse to vacate the office to which he was duly elected when his office is in the process of being taken over by insurrectionists. He'd call out the palace guard and dig in. Even if he had screwed up monumentally he'd have to resist a coup in deference to the constitution. First fend off the insurrectionists and then resign if that was the right thing to do. The constitution cannot tolerate insurrection.
